One day in a little town on the waters of Washington State’s Puget Sound called Gig Harbor, a Veterinarian and a Canine Behavior Consultant were chatting about their respective passions for the art of teaching. They sighed as they realized that almost all organized, science-based canine behavior and health-related educational events are geared toward the canine professional, and only the canine professional. Moreover, most of those professionals don’t have the time or ability to discuss these topics with information-craving dog owners in great detail, with a personal depth of conversation that many of us humans crave.
This was the birth of WAGSniffAScent.

Meet Your Instructors
Heather Misener DVM, CVAT, CCRT
I’m Heather, and I’m the owner of Ruff Day Vet + Ruff Day Pet Gym, a small Veterinary Acupuncture and Rehabilitation practice in Gig Harbor, WA. My favorite part of practice is being able to build deep relationships with my patients and clients, enabling a teamwork approach to the management of pain and mobility disorders, with a heavy emphasis on environmental and lifestyle factors that can improve lifespan, healthspan, and overall quality of life. I am so excited to come together with Ann to build this resource for pet owners who desire high quality, evidence-based information to help their dogs (and cats!) live their best lives, at any age.
Ann Waterbury CPDT-KA, CNWI, UW-AAB
I’m Ann and I’m the owner of Sound Dog Connection, a training and behavior studio located in Gig Harbor WA. I love working with humans and their dogs as a teacher, effectively changing behaviors while applying the science of behavior analysis. I specialize in helping dogs that have shown fear, aggression, and reactive behaviors. I am also a certified nose work instructor, and I love using this activity to add a deeper layer of enrichment to the world of dogs, and help enhance the human animal bond. I am especially passionate about helping dogs (and cats!) and their people deepen their connection, and live their very best lives together. I am thrilled to join Heather in this adventure.
